About Manila Art Scene

Manila Art Scene offers one among the infinitely various/varying views of the art world in Manila. It occasionally covers areas outside the Philippine capital. With its articles, reviews, and exhibition listing, it aims to disseminate insights and information, which hopefully would someday ignite a wider degree of appreciation and critical engagement with the arts.

The Manila Art Scene logo places emphasis on two things: the site's acronym 'mas', a Filipino word which means more; and the site's name protruding from the box, which suggests an escape from the notion of it being boxed within the white cube. The site aims to cover art writings and musings, not only of the formal and institutionalized Manila art scene, but also its peripheries.
